Veteran Services

Workforce Solutions is committed to those who are dedicated to service of our country! If you have served in the Armed Forces we are honored to meet your job search and training needs. Honorably discharged veterans and eligible spouses are afforded priority services in our system. As a veteran or eligible spouse, you receive precedence to use resources in our centers, including computers, phones, faxes, and referrals to new job postings. If you require assistance from staff, you will be served promptly on a priority basis. You will be granted priority access to training for which you are qualified and where funding exists. You will also receive priority of service for childcare services.

Texas Veterans Commission

Through the Texas Veterans Commission, the Veterans Employment Services Program offers employment services to all eligible Veterans and qualified individuals in Texas and provides a full range of employment services. On their Veterans page you’ll find information about how to match your military experience to civilian occupations, how to get college credit for your military experience, resources to assist you in transitioning to civilian life, and incentives for employers who hire veterans via Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC).  TVC maintains staff in the Workforce Solutions Tyler and Longview offices who assist employers in matching qualified veterans for potential employment opportunities. These staff also provide intensive services through job-coaching and career guidance to eligible veterans facing significant barriers to employment.

Texas Veterans Leadership Program

The Texas Veterans Leadership Program (TVLP) is a resource and referral network connecting returning veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan (OEF, OND, & OIF VETS Only) with the resources and tools they need to lead productive lives and enjoy the full benefits of the society they have willingly serviced.
