Workforce Solutions East Texas is proud to be one of the top performing areas in the State for Texas Rising Star. Our board is honored to have received outstanding performance awards for this program in 2017, 2018, and 2019 from the Texas Workforce Commission. 

All center based and home based child care providers in Texas can be certified in Texas Rising Star if they meet certain eligibility criteria. Programs that participate in Texas Rising Star meet higher quality standards than many other child care programs.

The Texas Rising Star program is a required, quality-based child care rating system of child care providers participating in the Texas Workforce Commission’s subsidized child care program. The TRS Provider certification system offers three levels of certification (Two-Star, Three-Star, and Four-Star) to encourage providers to attain progressively higher certification requirements leading to a Four-Star level.

East Texas has one of the highest enrollments in the TRS Program in the State. Our staff are working daily to enroll new providers and to help enhance the quality of child care in East Texas. If you are considering child care options in East Texas, be sure to look for centers that are going above and beyond the minimum standards and participating in the TRS Program.
